I was born in Seattle, and graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in
Interior Design.
The extensive study of art history
was fascinating as was the history of architecture and the role our
physical environment plays in everyday life. Included
were perspective drawing and some watercolor renderings of our
designs. The paints weren’t touched again until retirement!
Years of experience designing commercial work environments
evolved to an interest in helping people 'see' the potential in their
living spaces. Soon I had created a niche in the Remodeling
Design business and had won awards with kitchens, baths, room additions
and whole house remodels.
Photography has always been a
passion --zooming in for the 'feeling'--thinking creatively.
Not surprisingly, the sun drew me to California and eventually to
the coast!
While self employed, I studied 'Creative Expression' at the Institute
for Transpersonal Psychology in Menlo Park, enjoyed a course in quick
drawing, and felt the urge to show others what I saw thru the lens of
the camera.
Discovering watercolor and the passion of inspiration at this point in
my life is exciting. Though foreign travel has expanded my world
in the past, now living in 'Paradise' I find my day to day experience
with people opens my eyes and sparks again the need to express my view!!
